Someone once said of Jesus...
Who made this profound statement about Jesus? You might be surprised to find out that it wasn't one of His disciples or apostles. It didn't even come from one who we consider a religious man. It was none other than Napoleon Bonaparte, the emperor of France! But who can deny the fact of what he proclaims about Jesus of Nazareth? After all, He truly was a Man without equal, for has there ever been another who did so much good, sacrificed so much, or cared so much for others as He? No man before Him or since can claim, and rightly so, the rank among men and in heaven that Jesus holds. Though equal in divinity with God He surrendered it (Phil. 2:5-8) and came to earth to die a most cruel death totally on behalf of others (Rom. 5:6-8). He could have called upon legions of angels to deliver Him from the hands of His enemies (Mt. 26:53) but chose rather to give Himself up for the greatest cause the salvation of others. He, and He alone, is the one in whom we can find salvation (Acts 4:12). Yes, indeed, He is a man without equal, no mere man at all, but the very Son of God, and deserving of our devotion today and always. Boy, now that's something to think about in 2001!
